In the late 1800s, if you walked into a saloon or restaurant and ordered Yellowstone Bourbon, the bartender would’ve poured it from an eye-catching glass decanter embossed with “Yellowstone” and featuring the infamous Yellowstone Lower Falls painted on the front. So, Yellowstone Bourbon is proud to once again turn back to our heritage with Yellowstone Recollection Bourbon. Inspired by our earliest back-of-the-bar bottles, Recollection is an 8-year, 110 proof masterpiece that’s fit for any shelf – whether it’s in 2026 or 1872.
110 Proof (ABV 55%)
More than 150 years in the making.
Established in 1872, Yellowstone Bourbon was crafted to honor the sprawling wonder of America’s first national park. It’s what first inspired us to create approachably smooth whiskey for the benefit and enjoyment of the people, and why we still do it today.
1872 - Where it all started
After witnessing the excitement and enthusiasm behind the opening of this “little” park, Taylor & Williams brand Yellowstone Bourbon in honor the first of America’s public lands. Quickly, it became the flagship brand for Taylor & Williams and J.B. Dant’s distillery.
1920s - Doctor's orders
While America experienced a little hiccup better known as prohibition, Yellowstone was able to still operate and sell to customers through prescriptions.
1960s - Hometown Hero
Yellowstone Bourbon becomes the #1 selling bourbon in the state of Kentucky and is deemed the “Greatest American Whiskey”
2015 - A relic renewed
Under the guidance of Stephen Beam, Yellowstone found a new home at Limestone Branch Distillery. A new product, Yellowstone Select, was born reviving the historic Yellowstone formula.
2018 - Deeper than name alone
In order to ensure the kindred spirit of park and bourbon live for generations to come, Yellowstone Bourbon began a partnership with the NPCA to help preserve and protect our public lands.
Our family tree is an American Oak.
Stephen Beam, our Founder and Master Distiller, has a long whiskey lineage, stemming back to his great, great grandfather. And for every generation since, whiskey hasn’t been a business, but a calling. Yellowstone Bourbon represents the pinnacle of that rich heritage. Which is why Stephen has a hand in every product we create, and every bottle we produce.
