A fun-loving gin distilled with locally grown junipers, green tea and orange peel, for a warm finish with a touch of pure Vermont maple.
We are returning to our distilling roots with this gin release. Coppers Sugarwood Gin is distilled with locally-grown juniper berries, orange peel and green tea and a touch of Vermont's famous maple, collected from trees tapped in the maple-sugaring communities surrounding our distillery.

Remember when the roaring 20’s were full of flappers and slang, like “it’s the cat’s pajamas!” or “it’s the berries!” or “he’s the Darb!” Well, “bees knees” meant the thing or person was pretty swell, in fact, the very best!
But was it the very best? It’s possible the imbibers of the time were simply trying to mask the awful bitterness of homemade spirits. And bathtub gin was fashionable. So a healthy splash of lemon and honey, plus an optimistic name for the new cocktail at least helped to take the edge off!
Coppers Sugarwood Gin, acidic lemon and a sweetner, such as pure Vermont maple.
Sugarwood Trees Knees is the Vermonter’s version of the classic Prohibition Era cocktail, Bees Knees. In our version, hold the honey and use pure Vermont maple instead. We’ve come a long way from bathtub gin, too. You’ll notice subtle hints of green tea and orange peel, brought out by a touch of pure maple and a refreshing splash of lemon.
Coppers Sugarwood Negroni

1/2 ounce Fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce pure Vermont maple syrup
Combine all ingredient in a shaking glass with ice. Shake vigorously until combined and well chilled. Server in a chilled glass with a lemon twist.
(This is a great one to make ahead or in a big batch and serve at a party!)
