The Rye is distilled form 90% rye and 10% malt. The rye is aged on new American white oak barrels for 4 years and finish aged on charred pecan wood.

John Emerald Distilling is a small batch craft distillery located in beautiful downtown Opelika, Alabama. We offer tours, cocktails, and bottle sales in house as well as distribute our spirits throughout Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, New York, California, Colorado, and Illinois.
We are proud of our heritage. From the original three Sharp brothers who ventured to America from Scotland to the namesake of our company, John Emerald Sharp, the Sharps have lived lives of integrity: honoring God, their fellow man and their family. So when it came time to name our distillery, the idea to honor our forefathers in name and spirit rang true.

The Rye Smash-
1.5oz Purveyor’s Rye, 2-3 spoons of seasonal fruit, 3 sprigs of mint, 1.5 oz lemon, and 1.5 oz simple syrup. Muddle with ice and serve dirty.
The Fighatten-
2oz Rye, .75oz Elizabeth Fig Liqueur, and 2 dashes orange bitters. Stir with ice and stain into a snifter.
