Batch 003 is a 5-whisky blend created to accentuate a vibrant, zesty, fruit-forward nose and palate combination rarely seen in rye whisky. The whisky was built around an 18 year old rye aged in ex-tequila barrels with a verdant and floral nose combined with an herbaceous spiciness. We enriched the fruitiness by blending in an additional 18 year rye aged in ex-Speyside scotch casks and a surprisingly delicate 21 year old corn component aged in used American oak. Lastly, we provided a foundation of baking spices and brown sugar using a 17 year rye and a 25 year corn, both aged in Hungarian oak.

Found North Whisky
Our goal is to make whisky so delicious and resonant that it shines a light on northern whisky-making. We blend Canadian whisky because its entire purpose from distillation through maturation is to produce quality components for the blender. As blenders, we have access to a diverse range of old, well-made whiskies from which we can further mature and blend the whisky that we want to drink right now.
Blending defines Canadian whisky—yet, unlike many large Canadian whisky brands, our goal isn’t to make a smooth and easy-drinking product for the mass market. We’re inspired by rich, complex, and tongue-tingling whiskies that quicken the senses and enliven the taste buds. We don’t use coloring or additives and we release non-chill filtered batches at cask strength.
With every batch we create, our bond with Canadian whisky grows stronger and our senses sharper. In blending, we are meticulous. We fret about single percentage points, because we believe the quality of Found North can inspire a new renaissance of Canadian enthusiasm.

The resulting whisky cascades from high to low, starting with a trove of striking berry notes, citrus and honeysuckle, dovetailing gracefully into a silky, buttery mid-palate, before settling into its lengthy rye undertones that provide a resounding, deep, spicy finish. Each sip tastes like someone baked an apple crisp right onto your palate, showing robust cinnamon and a lingering gingerbread finish that mingles with gentle tannins.
