KIRK and SWEENEY was a wooden schooner, best known for smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the Northeast during the early years of Prohibition. Expert blending comes to life with rums aged between 5 and 20 years to fully develop the enticing and immensely smooth Gran Reserva profile.

Bermúdez distillery is located in Santiago de los Caballeros. They produce a variety of Dominican Rums under the name J. Armando Bermúdez & Co., S.A., most notably their Bermúdez, Barceló and Brugal labels known as the three B’s.

The history of Bermudez dates back to 1852, nearly 10 years after the Dominican Republic’s Declaration of Independence. The company is still run by the Bermúdez family till this day.

The facility boasts the oldest aging cellars in the Dominican Republic, and it is said that Bermúdez is actually the oldest distillery in the Dominican Republic. 

Their lineup is a diverse and extensive portfolio of Rums ranging from their flavored and blanco Spirits to their seasoned añejo expressions.

1.5 oz. Kirk & Sweeney 18 Reserva

.25 oz. Tempus Fugit Créme de Cacao

3 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Combine all ingredients into mixing glass. Stir and strain into rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with grated nutmeg and burn the oils of an orange twist over cocktail.
