The 2022 Guelaguetza batch of Chulele® Mezcal was lovingly crafted by Maestro Mezcalero Tomás Mendéz Hernandéz, his family and the many amazing people in Santiago Matatlân. The agave for this batch was cut in the fields owned by the Maestro Mezcalero (coordinates 16.8997546, -96.3923062), located 10 minutes’ drive from the family Palenque.

2022 Chulele® Espadin Mezcal GuelaguetzaThe life of these bottles began on July 11, 2022, with the harvest of the Espadín maguey. The hot days and nights of July developed the perfect conditions for fermentation. The energy in Oaxaca was intense, as this was the first time locals could celebrate the Guelaguetza Festival since the beginning of the pandemic. Everybody was happy and excited for a return to normalcy.
