This gin is a western style that is created using our vodka as a base. Then steep our botanicals for 24hrs before it is distilled for the 3rd and final time. We have a lot of customers that come into our tasting room adamant that they are not gin drinkers or who have had a bad experience years ago with gin. When we talk them into giving our gin a try either straight or in custom cocktail more than half end up leaving with a bottle of Drift Gin in their hands!
80 Proof (ABV 40%)
Drift Distillery manufactures quality small batch spirits that are all hand made in San Clemente, CA. One of the most unique aspects of Drift is the grain to bottle operation that they get their wheat from their parents' family farm outside the town of Bison, Kansas. We take a lot of pride in the fact that we’re able to make premium spirits that we love with the grain planted and harvested by our parents. Not many distilleries can say that. Even our tasting room reflects our roots as all the tin and wood come from a 100 year old barn from the farm and definitely makes our tasting room one of a kind.
TASTING
This is definitely not a juniper forward tasting gin and sits nicely on the palate with notes of coriander and citrus coming out first. While we personally don't taste any anise we do have some customers that detect it. The finish is very crisp and smooth.
AROMA
The first thing that stands out for us is juniper and citrus aromas with floral hints that help make up our gin. We also detected a hint of licorice.
