In the spirit of Antelope Island comes Antelope Island Red Barrel Rested Rum. We know authentic rum flavor and taste come from innovating while honoring the history of rum and rum making.

THEIR INSPIRATION

Antelope Island Red is unique as a barreled aged rum. After we’ve made our Premium award winning Antelope Island White Rum, we store it in a used Cabernet wine cask specially prepared for us by Steve Robertson at Hells Canyon Winery in Idaho. This rum has a color both red from the wine and brown from the barrel as the spirit works its way through the wine and into the wood, extracting rich vanillin and wine esters on the way out.

Plantation slaves first discovered that molasses, a by-product of the sugar refining process, fermented into alcohol. Later, distillation of these alcoholic by-products concentrated the alcohol and removed impurities, producing the first true rums. Tradition suggests that these rums first originated on the island of Barbados… Antelope Island provides the local inspiration for our island rum. (And by the way, we even have a parrot.)

As you sail for Antelope Island, in the Southern part of the Great Salt Lake, watch for natural fresh-water springs and a land-bridge that emerges when the lake is extremely low! Land ho! The island a natural refuge for all sorts of wildlife including bighorn sheep, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, coyote and the state bird, the California seagull.

Welcome to Dented Brick, a 14,000 square foot distillery built in 2015. From the start we’ve been passionate about crafting something absolutely original, and as we stood on the front porch of the old brick house, we knew we’d found the right place to build our distillery.

We loved the property.  The original building was, well, original.  It inspired us. Built in 1919, the home had character (and a colorful history).  Almost unbelievably, the property’s water source was an artesian well, drilled by the previous owner and his father.

We pulled the bricks from the old house down by hand and kept them all - even the dented ones.  Today, they are part of the new distillery and remind us of our mission to produce and share with the world truly craft spirits.  Spirits we love.  Spirits that start with distiller-selected fine raw materials and artesian well water.  Spirits produced entirely in our house with no shortcuts. We promise to put our passion and commitment in every bottle and to create a community around every glass. We are innovators who maintain respect and love for tradition.

Over the course of Mike McSorley's career in the beverage alcohol industry he has received numerous awards as a craft bartender, has served as a Mixology Consultant for major international hotel groups and stand-alone concepts in the USA, India, and China, and also won a number of spirits competition awards as a Head Distiller in Washington State and Utah.

Aromas of Himalayan salt, vanilla, lime, and pineapple. The round, buoyant palate is dotted with salty notes of apricot, Asian pear, and butterscotch toffee, while the finish is long and luxurious.
