Cardinal Spirits is a craft distillery in Bloomington, Ind., that makes vodkas, gins, rums, liqueurs, and canned cocktails, and distributes them in 12 states and Washington, D.C. Everything we use to distill and flavor our award-winning spirits are real-deal botanicals, fruits, and spices — we never use bottled extracts or flavorings — and we source local ingredients like grains and honey and walnuts whenever possible.

At our distillery, we have a tasting room, cocktail bar, and restaurant, and we offer distillery tours, too (currently, tours are paused due to the global pandemic. Our restaurant and bar offers cocktails and food from scratch on Wednesdays-Saturdays, plus Sunday brunch. Our beautiful patio is among the best in Bloomington, overlooking the B-Line walking and biking path.

2 OUNCES CARDINAL SPIRITS STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY
3/4 OUNCE LEMON JUICE
3/4 OUNCE HONEY SYRUP (RECIPE FOLLOWS)
ADD ALL INGREDIENTS TO A SHAKER FILLED WITH ICE; SHAKE WELL. STRAIN INTO A ROCKS GLASS OVER ONE LARGE CUBE OF ICE.
FOR THE HONEY SYRUP: COMBINE 1 CUP OF HONEY AND 1/3 CUP WATER IN A SAUCEPAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT. STIR OCCASIONALLY, UNTIL THE HONEY HAS DISSOLVED. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND LET COOL BEFORE USING. STORE IN REFRIGERATOR.
