With a passion for distilling, a natural talent for building and highlighting flavors, and her innate hospitality and business prowess, Laura is a strong voice and advocate in the spirits industry.
Since launching You & Yours Distilling Co. in 2017, Laura has been named a 2018 Eater Young Gun, made it onto the 2018 Forbes “30 Under 30” list, and has won Best Local Spirit or Distillery by San Diego Magazine each year since 2017. 1.5 oz Y&Y Citrus Vodka
0.75 oz lemon juice
0.75 oz grapefruit cordial*
Torn basil
Topo Chico, or sparkling water of choice
Lavender sugar & salt rim**
Add all ingredients (except Topo Chico) to a
shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a stemless wine
glass rimmed with lavender sugar & salt mixture. Top with
3 oz Topo Chico and garnish with lavender wand.
Ingredients:
**Lavender Sugar & Salt Rim:
1/2 c salt
1/4 c white sugar
Dried lavender buds
(or few dashes of food-grade lavender essential oil)
Combine ingredients in a food processor. Store
indefinitely in a sealed container at room
temperature.
*Grapefruit Cordial
1/2 c grapefruit juice
1/2 c white sugar
Finely strain juice, then bring to a boil
with sugar. Reduce heat and let simmer
15 minutes. Let cool and strain into a
sealed container. Store in the
refrigerator for up to one week.
