KARL JOHNSON - Chief Distiller, Co-Owner
Denning’s Point distiller, Karl Johnson, spent his early career distilling components for rocket fuel. (Of course, any similarities to our products are purely coincidental). Karl grew up on a 6000-acre farm and studied closely under his father, an agronomist and plant geneticist who bred barley used to make malt. Karl’s love of science and agriculture run deep. As a youngster, he sold corn door to door towing his red wagon piled high and he assisted in his father’s sunflower breeding program, bagging row after row of sunflower heads to prevent cross-pollination. All of these formative experiences have come together at Denning’s Point Distillery where Karl carefully selects the finest heirloom grains and artfully crafts spirits of unparalleled character and refinement.
SUSAN KERAMEDJIAN - Business Development, Co-Owner
Susan is Denning's Point Distillery's chief marketing person, brand evangelist, errand runner and hostess. Her role at the distillery is a culmination of many years of corporate marketing management in New York City, followed by an interior design career. Drawing on experiences from these various roles has enabled Susan to create a unique visual identity for the distillery and its spirits. Don't let her casual, off-handed nature fool you though, Susan's control freaky nature in regard to the distillery's brand runs deep. There have been many chuckles about the "Employee Handbook" she wrote in the early days for the two-person team.
