Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum was originally made from pure cane juice, harvested on the island of Maui and converted into golden sugar at the old C and H sugar factory on the island, before it was driven up the mountain to Hali’imaile Distillery and distilled into rum.

In 1978 Sammy Hagar wrote the song 'I've Done Everything For You", in 1981 he turned it over to his buddy Rick Springfiled and it became a huge hit. One night over some Beach Bar Rum mojitos Sammy asked Rick why he thought his version was so well received and he responded "Cause I'm better looking than you" . After a good laugh he told Sammy put my face on this rum and I'll make that a hit too. Sammy accepted the challenge and their partnership in Beach Bar Rum was born.
